WPL Publishing to Host ‘Construction Scheduling Tips and Tricks’ Webinar
Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- A WPL Publishing webinar set to take place next Thursday will provide attendees with several “tips and tricks” they can use for scheduling their construction projects.
There is no question about the value of a good construction schedule. However, some aspects of creating and updating a schedule can be time consuming and counterproductive. In this three-hour webinar, construction expert and scheduling author Saleh Mubarak will share with attendees information that can have a significant impact on their schedules’ quality, finish date, cost, or liability. In his presentation, he will outline more than two dozen tried-and-true techniques acquired from his 20-plus years of construction scheduling experience. The webinar, entitled “Construction Scheduling Tips and Tricks: Better Schedules and Improved Project Performance,” is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT). The webinar is designed to assist attendees in the following areas:
Baseline Schedule Essentials -- This category covers the planning phase and is expected to help attendees define project scope, manage risks, and hire schedulers.
Creating the Schedule -- This area focuses on the Project Breakdown Structure, Work Breakdown Structure; number of activities; activity IDs and titles; and repetitive activities.
Schedule Updates -- Topics in this category include frequency, procedure, “warning signs,” and “percent complete.”
Other Topics -- Additional topics include project acceleration issues, change orders, scheduling in an international environment, and software issues.
Mubarak is considered one of the world’s leading construction management consultants, specializing in planning and scheduling, project control, and cost estimating with particular strength in computer applications and teaching skills. He has coached and trained hundreds of professionals and students of different levels and backgrounds. In addition, he authored “Construction Project Scheduling and Control,” a comprehensive book on Critical Path Method scheduling and project controls, and “How to Estimate with Means Data & Cost Works,” a cost-estimating book based on the Means database.
After the presentation, there will be an interactive 10-to-15 minute question-and-answer session addressing relevant topics.
Webinar tuition is based on location, not number of participants, so each registration site can have multiple participants for one low price. To register, visit http://tinyurl.com/melps8q.
