Writer Learns Life Lessons From Former Policeman In New Novel
TRENTON, Ontario (PRWEB) July 10, 2017 -- Author A.S. Chambers’ debut novel “Chronicles of the Fallen” (published by Archway Publishing) tells the story of Detective Connor MacCarith, one of the bravest law enforcement officers on the streets of Chicago in the 1930s.
Andrew Chambers is a bit of recluse. As a writer, he prefers the solitude of his peaceful farm in the middle of nowhere just outside of Chicago. But being invited to a convention for newly published books and authors is exciting. Andrew finds himself in Central Park at the Chess Pavilion sitting across the table from Connor MacCarith, a former Chicago policeman. MacCarith was known as one of the bravest policeman of his time, and unfortunately, he paid dearly while breaking up a speakeasy in the late 1930s. Andrew wants to hear the story of this hero’s life.
Chambers meditates on the power and importance of storytelling – as a craft, but also more importantly as a means of passing on one’s history to help the younger generation move forward with their predecessor’s insights intact.
“We live in a time where technology moves with great speed,” says Chambers. “We start to forget what our forefathers and foremothers have come from (and) that we not only have a world history but a personal one too and passing it on to our children and their children in tales to pass and teach them about where they truly come from.”
