WRJ Design’s Rush Jenkins Speaks About Nancy Reagan, A First Lady’s Style
Jackson Hole, Wyoming (PRWEB) December 11, 2015 -- Rush Jenkins, CEO of WRJ Design in Jackson, Wyoming, and the designer of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation’s exhibition and catalogue, "Nancy Reagan—A First Lady’s Style," spoke to a woman’s club in Dallas recently about the former first lady’s impeccable taste. In 2007 Jenkins and his firm, WRJ Design, created an exhibition on Reagan’s life, legacy and couture, highlighting some 80 gowns, cocktail dresses and suits worn by Nancy Reagan during her White House years. The exhibit was also the focus of a book of the same name written and produced by WRJ Design and published by the Reagan Library.
“It can be said that Mrs. Reagan’s style was quintessentially American—classic and effortless—and everything from how she entertained to how she dressed as first lady bore the mark of her discerning eye for detail and understatement,” says Jenkins. “It’s always a pleasure to speak about Mrs. Reagan and her style; it is timeless.”
WRJ Design is known for creating stunning interiors as well as remarkable exhibitions of legendary personal collections. The firm has designed more than 40 exhibitions for Sotheby’s New York, including such recognizable names as Laurance Rockefeller, Katharine Hepburn, Brooke Astor, Bill Blass and “Property from the Collection of Mrs. Paul Mellon.”
“Working on the exhibition at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, and meeting Mrs. Reagan was an experience of a lifetime,” says Jenkins, who served as director of design for Sotheby’s New York before founding WRJ Design with partner and COO Klaus Baer. “She chose her wardrobe carefully for the numerous events she attended, always mindful that she represented our country.”
