Wyly & Cook, LLP Raising Funds for Walk Like MADD Fundraiser
Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 21, 2014 -- Houston Car Accident Attorneys Brad Wyly and Kelly Cook of Wyly & Cook, LLP are supporting Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) by participating in the organization’s “Walk Like MADD” event. In addition to actually walking at the event, the attorneys are striving to raise $2,000 for MADD and they are currently collecting donations. The funds raised by Wyly & Cook, LLP will be used in the local community and to support the mission and activities of MADD, which includes The Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving. The three focus areas of this campaign include the following: to support the effort of having high-visibility law enforcement on the streets to deter and put a stop to drunk driving; to require all drunk drivers to use ignition interlock devices, which prevents their vehicles from starting unless they produce clean breath samples; and to support other technology that will help keep drunk drivers off the road. The Houston Walk Like MADD event is being held on May 17, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oyster Creek Park.
According to MADD’s website, more than 10,000 people died in drunk driving accidents in 2012, which equates to one death every 51 minutes.
