Wyze Computers Now Offers Computers Specifically Designed for Professional Photographers
Carmel, Indiana (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Owner of Wyze Computers, John Wyant, just announced that the custom computer company will now offer a line of computers specifically designed for photographers.
Those who want to take photography seriously will understand the needs of a computer that will handle the size and number of images and also want to make sure that they have a computer that will handle all of the programs that will help make that business successful.
The computers will put special emphases on these five selections that will make it a dream machine for photographers.
First design specialty will be the CPU or Central Processing Unit. Everything one does with a computer is going to be interpreted through the CPU, so it needs to be adequate to the task. The first requirement for photoshop is that it is a dual-core processor. A simplified way of demonstrating what the number of cores means is that each core is like adding another person to a team. With each person added to a team more things can get done at once. With intels latest processors, one can get four or even six cores, which is more ideal for photoshop, and is thus why we prefer to use them in our builds.
Every program and file uses RAM (Random Access Memory) to operate. RAM is similar to the short term memory of the computer. The more RAM the more things it can recall from the short term. If there is insufficient RAM the computer has to pull the data from the hard drive, which takes significantly longer. While 8 GB is the minimum suggested for photoshop, we run with much higher stats in our machines and suggest including as much RAM as one can afford.
The GPU, also known as the graphics card, is obviously an extremely important part of a photoshop computer. This is what creates the image displayed on the screen. One of the significant things about the graphics card is that it has to be a professional grade graphics card in order to run GPU Acceleration. Something that photoshop takes advantage of specifically.
The Hard Drive is the long term, permanent memory of the computer. This is where all files and programs are actually stored. For this we run at least 2 TB hard drives, not only to store higher quality images, but many more of them as well.
The Solid State Drive is a newer form of the hard drive. It is much more stable and much faster, similar to a flash drive. With the newness of solid state drives comes a higher price, which is why hard disk drives are preferred for the main storage. However, do to the faster speed, solid state drives are preferred for storing the operating system and commonly used applications. This allows for them to be run faster and maintain a more stable state.
Wyze Computers’ goal is to help design a computer to fit the photographer's current needs and the what they might need to grow into. Purchasing a computer that might only service the needs for the next 6-12 months is not beneficial. Our goal is to look at the projection for the business and build a computer that will be there for the growth periods.
