XchangeWorx Expands Through Partnership with UAlbany’s START-UP NY
Albany, New York (PRWEB) June 10, 2016 -- XchangeWorx has been approved for the START-UP NY program through a partnership with the University at Albany, and has already begun to create new jobs and contribute to the economic development of the Capital Region. XchangeWorx is a technology provider with a focus on developing healthcare solutions and effective population health management tools.
“XchangeWorx was created to better connect healthcare providers by automatically capturing disparate and disjointed electronic medical records and delivering them in real-time, in a comprehensive view, at the point of care,” said Joel Ryba, CEO of XchangeWorx. “Our mission is to provide cost-effective solutions which deliver the right information at the right time for the benefit of providers and patients. By partnering with UAlbany, the region’s public research university, we believe we can reach our goals.”
XchangeWorx started with eight employees and in recent weeks has doubled to 17, with several open positions. “We are actively recruiting skilled software developers to meet the needs of our clients and we plan to add more openings in the next several months to advance information technology for the changing healthcare market.”
XchangeWorx is born out of the successful creation of platforms, tools and services which were developed when Joel was the Chief Operating Officer with Hixny. The need to start XchangeWorx came from organizations and companies, outside of the Hixny region, which began requesting services from Hixny. As a non-profit, Hixny’s mission is narrowly focused on serving participants within its region. Because of this need, the startup company was created with Joel being selected as its first CEO.
START-UP NY offers new and expanding businesses the opportunity to operate tax-free for ten years on or near eligible university or college campuses in New York State. “The University at Albany is pleased to be partnering with XchangeWorx under the Start UP NY Program in support of solutions to real-world problems such as access to accurate and timely electronic health records for medical professionals,” said Robert J. Jones, president, University at Albany. “We are confident that our exceptional academic assets in public health and data analysis will provide a solid foundation from which XchangeWorx can continue to grow and prosper in the Capital Region.”
XchangeWorx is located at 80 Wolf Road and shares common, non-work space with Hixny.
“XchangeWorx now serves multiple clients, has one product in general release and one in beta release with production customer sites, and we are starting to fill our sales pipeline with new opportunities. As a resident of the City of Albany and graduate of the University at Albany MBA program, I find it personally fulfilling to be able to create the type of high paying jobs that drive economic growth and keep our university graduates living and working in and around Albany” said Ryba.
