XenServer Celebrates 10th Anniversary – Quadric Software Continues to Lead the XenServer Market as Customers Flock to the Alike Solution from Competing Solutions
(PRWEB) September 01, 2016 -- Citrix recently announced XenSever’s 10-year anniversary just months after the release of XenServer 7. Shortly after the XenServer 7 release, Quadric Software announced the launch of Alike 4.5, featuring Changed Block Tracking for XenServer. Alike became the only backup solution to offer this unique feature for XenServer, giving Quadric Software even more traction in the XenServer market.
James Bulpin, Head of Technology for XenServer, talked about the latest version of XenServer in a recent post: “Our latest release, XenServer 7, is our best yet, with a number of new innovations in graphics and security, significant enhancements to performance, and internal updates to pave the way for even more cool stuff in the future.”
With the release of v4.5, Alike also became—and remains—one of the only enterprise solutions to support XenServer 7. After Alike 4.5 launched, Quadric has been welcoming a steady influx of users who are leaving other solutions due to what new customers are calling one of Quadric’s competing solutions “hugely complicated and does not yet support XenServer 7.0.”

Baskette also commented on Alike 4.5’s support for XenServer 7: “Citrix has updated XenServer with a lot of exciting new features, including the revolutionary hypervisor memory introspection (HVMI) for added security. We knew that customers would want to take advantage of the upgrade. To help customers seamlessly upgrade to the latest version of XenServer, we aggressively pursued full support for XenServer 7.”
In a final statement, Baskette added, “Recently we have seen large numbers of new customers migrating from competing solutions because they are seeking a partner that is more dedicated to the Citrix XenServer platform.
