Xensr AIR 3D GPS Firmware Update Unlocks New Features, Creates New Class of Sport GPS Tracker
Green Bay, WI (PRWEB) June 08, 2016 -- Xensr Inc. unlocked 3D GPS capabilities of the Xensr Air via firmware update today. Athletes in 25+ sports can now replay and relive their sports in full 3D. An avatar turns, spins, and flips alongside an athlete’s real time GPS location, speed, jump height, airtime, and other Xensr TruMotion events. With Xensr Air 3D GPS it is no longer just about the numbers. Athletes can now visualize their moves in full 3D and relive the moment.
“This is the largest breakthrough in GPS in over a decade,” says CEO David Troup. “GPS has always given us speed and location, but by adding 3D with TruMotion events, we’ve transformed GPS into an invaluable tool for athletes at any level”.
Traditional GPS systems only utilize signals from satellites high overhead in orbit to determine the speed, location and altitude of the athlete. Xensr’s 3D GPS combines this GPS signal with aerospace grade inertial measurement sensors and places that data into its TruMotion processor engine to build a realtime, all aspect, view of the athlete’s performance. TruMotion identifies motion events such as jumps, inverts, velocity, freefall, turns, and even crashes or wipeouts.
Troup continues, “Athletes don’t need to be engineers when looking at their Xensr session files. While some cameras and tracking devices deliver data such as acceleration and gyro rates, those numbers are useless to athletes. Athletes want to know real answers to the questions of how high, how fast, how far, and how hard. Xensr 3D GPS is the most advanced tool an athlete can have in their tool box.”
