Xpanxion Announces New ADA Compliance Initiative
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) September 15, 2016 -- The vast umbrella of all disabled Americans make up the fastest growing minority group in America accounting for 20% of the population. When coupled with elderly Americans over the age of 55 with the same types of barriers, this group makes up 57% of all Internet usage. Xpanxion’s ADA Compliance Director, Doug Loo, has devoted almost 20 years to learning and developing innovative ways to help this group more easily access technology, and is now focusing his efforts on The Doorman Project.
The Doorman Project was created to help disabled Americans complete everyday tasks on a computer such as reading a document or applying for employment. Using available technologies, Xpanxion has put together an accessible live help desk open 24/7 and staffed by disabled veterans trained to act as web and mobile companions for the disabled community.
“My vision is to help this community as best I can. When Xpanxion offered to work with me, I decided to come out of retirement to lead the effort and open the door to the Internet for the millions of users that need help," says Doug.
The Doorman Project solution will include a public portal and client version that will be embedded within a customer’s website to cater to people under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As the first company to offer this type of service, Xpanxion is excited for the positive impact The Doorman Project will have on veterans, seniors, and disabled Americans.
