XRomb Announces Pete Hart as Advisor
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) July 16, 2014 -- Valdis Martinsons, Chairman, CEO and co-founder of XRomb Inc., is pleased to announce that Alex W. ‘Pete’ Hart, has joined the XRomb Advisory Board as our Payments Industry Specialist. Pete Hart is a consultant specializing in payment services and financial technology.
From 1988 to 1994, Mr. Hart was President and Chief Executive Officer of MasterCard International, the worldwide payment service provider. Concurrently, he also served as Chairman of the Board of Maestro International, the global debit system, and was a member of the board of directors of Europay International.
“After spending time reviewing XRomb’s vision and product offerings, I believe XRomb’s unique approach to enabling mobile commerce payments, bolstered by their patent portfolio, makes them well positioned to capitalize on the rapidly growing mobile commerce market,” said Mr. Hart. “The experience Mr. Martinsons has gained as the CIO at Research in Motion (RIM) and as the CTO at Virgin Mobile Canada, has vaulted XRomb to a leadership position in this hyper competitive space,” he said.
Before joining MasterCard, Mr. Hart spent ten years at First Interstate Bancorp as President and CEO of First Interstate Services Company, the system-wide technology and operations subsidiary. He later served as Executive Vice President of Consumer Banking and Operations at the holding company.
While at First Interstate Bancorp he became the founding Chairman of the Board of the Cirrus System, today the world’s largest network of shared automated teller machines.
XRomb is working with Mr. Hart on strategic partnerships for both its NFC and Cloud based mobile payment offerings. “The ubiquitous nature of the XRomb cross-platform design, since it works across all smartphones, is a great fit for national and international partners”, said Mr. Hart.
Mr. Hart retired in April of 2012 as Chairman of SVB Financial, the world’s leading bank for venture backed companies. Currently, he serves on the Boards of Global Payments Inc., VeriFone, Inc, Mitek Systems, Inc. and Solicore, Inc.. He is also an advisor to a number of payments related companies.
