BUENA PARK, Calif. (PRWEB) September 15, 2014 -- Yamaha Corporation of America announced this week that Simon Oss has been appointed as the company’s Premium Piano Marketing Manager, overseeing all marketing of Yamaha’s high end piano lines throughout the U.S., as well as for Bösendorfer pianos in this country and Canada.
Oss, who brings a decade of high-end sales and marketing experience to his new position, said he hopes to expand and deepen Yamaha’s marketing reach for its premium pianos, comprising the S and CF series of concert grands and the full Bösendorfer line featuring eight models of grand pianos, including the Imperial Grand, one of the world’s largest with 97 keys.
“Yamaha premium pianos and Bösendorfer pianos are among the finest in the world, so it’s a pleasure to play a leading role in spreading the word about these incredible instruments that are the pinnacle of Yamaha’s tradition of fine piano crafting,” said Oss, who until his promotion in June served as Premium Piano Market Development Manager for YCA.
Oss has held several key roles in sales and marketing with Yamaha and with Bösendorfer, dating back to before Yamaha acquired the legendary Austrian piano company, a deal finalized six years ago. Since then, Yamaha has painstakingly worked to not only preserve but also build upon Bösendorfer’s legacy of unmatched craftsmanship and signature Viennese sound quality.
Over the past half-dozen years, Yamaha has also kept its pledge to preserve the traditional design and manufacturing of Bösendorfer pianos, and to use its own vast resources to help Bösendorfer grow as both a highly coveted piano for professional musicians around the world and as a symbol of Vienna’s musical culture and heritage, a success story in which Oss has certainly played a pivotal part.
Oss’s breadth of experience not only includes global sales and marketing, but product development, production planning, brand development and artist relations. He also successfully completed the Yamaha Global Institute’s Senior Manager Program, a prestigious, yearlong intensive for the company’s top executives.
“Yamaha’s premium pianos lead the industry in terms of quality craftsmanship, exquisite tone, powerful sound, unparalleled responsiveness and nuanced expressiveness, and Simon’s vision and experience in terms of marketing these remarkable instruments make him a wonderful leader to expertly market our flagship pianos,” said Tom Sumner, senior vice president of Yamaha Corporation of America.
Oss, who earned a degree with distinction from I.U.T. Robert Schuman, one of Europe’s most respected technological universities, began working for Bösendorfer in 2005, managing sales in his native Austria as well as France and Switzerland. He also previously served as the Yamaha/ Bösendorfer Sales Manager for all Asia Pacific and Arab countries, as well as directly handling key accounts and working with Yamaha subsidiaries throughout the world as Global Sales and Marketing Director, before coming to the United States with Yamaha Corporation of America last September.
