Yamaha Enhances Sound Quality and Playability of the World’s Best-Selling Guitars: Introduces The FG800 and FS800 Series
ANAHEIM (PRWEB) January 27, 2016 -- Yamaha introduced the new FG800 and FS800 acoustic guitar series at the 2016 NAMM Show last week in Anaheim, offering updates and upgrades to the best-selling acoustic guitars in history.
Each model in the redesigned FG800 and FS800 series features a solid sitka spruce top that improves the instrument’s tonal warmth as the guitar ages. New scalloped bracing enhances sound projection and a slimmer, tapered neck profile with slightly rounded fretboard edges increases playing comfort. New color options allow players to express themselves visually, as well as musically. The new series includes nine models that offer different tonewood options. Cutaway electric versions of these models will be released later in 2016.
FG guitars are often cited as the first models played by many guitarists, including solo artist Liz Phair, Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction and James Black of Finger Eleven, but they are so well constructed that many guitarists keep them throughout their lives. Other famous pickers of Yamaha FGs include Elliott Smith, Bob Seger and James Taylor.
“No manufacturer can match the workmanship and materials of the FG800 and FS800 series of guitars at these price points,” said Dennis Webster, marketing manager, Acoustic Guitars, Yamaha Corporation of America. “Yamaha always seeks to evolve and improve our products, and the new FG line draws from our long heritage of quality guitar manufacturing and dependability to ensure that the best-selling guitars are now better than ever.”
Yamaha entered the steel-string guitar market 50 years ago when it introduced the FG series, full-size “folk guitar” models that catapulted to instant popularity due to their solid construction, quality features and superior tone. Beginning with the FG150 and the FG180, consumers appreciated the incomparable value delivered by Yamaha Guitars. This reputation carried over to the successful FS720S, the first model in the FS smaller body concert size, introduced in 2006.
