Yamaha’s Award-Winning A-Series Line of Modern Acoustic-Electric Guitars Steps It Up
ANAHEIM (PRWEB) January 27, 2015 -- Yamaha announced the introduction of two higher-end additions to its well-received A-Series guitar lineup last week at the 2015 NAMM Show: the A6R dreadnought body shape and the AC6R concert shape.
Constructed of all-solid Sitka Spruce tops and all-solid Rosewood backs and sides, both models are meticulously handcrafted at Yamaha’s historic Music Craft workshop in Hamamatsu, Japan. In addition to including nitrocellulose lacquer finishes, which maintains the wood’s feel and also enhances tone, the A6 features gold open-gear vintage tuners, mother-of-pearl inlaid rosette and headstock logo along with an Ebony bridge and fretboard. The A6 models also come with the acclaimed SRT System microphone modeling preamp. Only 20 units of each model will be available in the United States.
“The A-Series now steps up to a bold new arena,” said Armando Vega, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars, Yamaha Corporation of America. “These instruments are optimized to provide the ultimate guitar at this price point by offering incredible value, craftsmanship and sound quality.”
The A-Series is designed to be the workhorse of any performing and recording guitarist’s arsenal, providing a memorable playing experience. The handcrafted A-Series acoustic-electric guitars have received excellent reviews in the guitar press. Featuring a slim neck profile and a rounded fretboard edge, the A-Series delivers ease and comfort. Yamaha also increased its traditional string spacing and lowered the action to accommodate today’s players.
The SRT preamp, an exclusive Yamaha technology, incorporates a piezo pickup system with a built-in microphone modeling technique specific to each guitar model. The SRT system lets players choose from three different mic settings that can be blended with the piezo pickup and provides studio-quality sound while playing live on stage. In addition, the SRT system cancels feedback frequencies in live situations.

Yamaha A6R and AC6R guitars (MSRP: $2,399) will ship in January 2015.
