Yard Truck Specialists Opens New Branch in York, Pa.
York, Pa. (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- Yard Truck Specialists, a full-service terminal tractor dealership, announced today the opening of a branch facility in York, Pa. The new location, the company said, will function as a hub for Yard Truck Specialists' operations in the center of the state.
"Ever since we became the primary authorized Kalmar Ottawa truck dealer for all of Pennsylvania in 2013, we've been looking to expand," Yard Truck Specialists General Manager Terry Hopkins said. "The Harrisburg-York-Lebanon area has over 1.2 million people. Opening a facility in York gives us access to a new customer base while also helping us better reach our existing customers in more central parts of the state."
The 4,500 square foot building, purchased in April of 2014, is the second branch opened recently by the Philadelphia-based company. The first, located in Pittsburgh, is attached to the headquarters of Yard Truck Specialists' corporate parent, H&K Equipment. The York location employs six full-time staff and will offer all of Yard Truck's core services, including Kalmar Ottawa truck sales, rentals, parts sales and a full service department.
"Our York facility is equipped with three bays, 2,500 square feet of shop space and staffed by four technicians, all of whom are experienced with the Kalmar Ottawa line," Hopkins explained. "Our goal is to provide the region with the same service that has made us the number one dealer in the nation for Kalmar Ottawa truck sales."
Hopkins added that the new location also allows the company to quickly dispatch its road service teams, who will be able to reach customers more quickly than teams leaving from the main facility two hours east. In addition to shop and field service capabilities, Hopkins said, the York branch will have a full parts department to support an enhanced inventory and faster delivery times.
"Parts are an integral part of our business," added Yard Truck Specialists Vice President Steve Croasdale. "We have been the number one parts dealer for the number one brand of yard trucks for the past 15 years. From 2004 through 2014 we have sold over $1 million in parts every year, and we're on pace to do it again."
"The York branch," he continued, "will let us stock an even larger inventory and increase the speed in which we can get our products to the customer."
Croasdale also noted that the York branch will have a dedicated truck sales staff representing Kalmar Ottawa, which just released its new line of T2 terminal tractors earlier this year.
"Kalmar Ottawa is the largest producer of terminal tractors in North America and, with the addition of the T2, the demand for these trucks is stronger than ever," Croasdale said. "This was an underserved region and we plan on taking advantage of that by offering the same award-winning sales and service that made our other branches in Pittsburgh and Bensalem so successful."
