Global enterprise technology research, advisory and analyst firm, Gartner, highlighted the importance of coupling the concept of governance with Data Discovery capabilities in a recent media announcement, stating that: “Through 2016, less than 10 percent of self-service BI initiatives will be governed sufficiently to prevent inconsistencies that adversely affect the business.”

Independent BI Analyst and President of WiseAnalytics, Lyndsay Wise, highlighted the growing demand for Governed Data Discovery in particular in a recent blog post, stating that: “The role of Governed Data Discovery is becoming increasingly important as organizations manage more complex and diverse data that they want to gain insights from.”
