Young Cancer Survivor and Husband Start Apparel Company to Give Back
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) November 26, 2013 -- AC Apparel, LLC, announces the launch of its first clothing line, Wear Awareness. Wear Awareness is a cancer awareness apparel company that focuses on helping current cancer patients by selling stylish, comfortable cancer awareness t-shirts. Six dollars from every shirt sold goes to help cancer patients with things like: co-pays, gas and hotel expenses, and other expenses not covered by insurance.
Wear Awareness founder Casie VanderLind, knows all too well the reality of facing cancer. Casie was diagnosed with stage three melanoma, just one week after graduating from college. After undergoing two surgeries and chemotherapy treatment, Casie won her battle. Casie, now 20 months cancer free, understands just how much small expenses can add up while battling cancer. Motivated to help others going though this same situation, Casie and her husband Andrew decided to start a cancer awareness apparel company in order to gave back.
"I noticed the lack of stylish t-shirts that promote awareness for all different forms of cancer, not just the ones made popular in todays society," said Casie.
Wear Awareness plans on making a difference by not only raising awareness for all different forms of cancer and other life altering diseases through t-shirts, but also by giving back to those in need. "To start, we are giving six dollars from every shirt we sell to help current cancer patients with expenses insurance doesn’t cover. We want cancer fighters to know that they are not alone in their battle."
Starting with shirts promoting melanoma and ovarian cancer awareness, along with an all-encompassing cancer ribbon design, Wear Awareness hopes to add shirts for leukemia and prostate cancer by the end of the year.
