Young Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC Supplied Cars for Curwood Festival Parade
OWOSSO, Mich. (PRWEB) June 09, 2015 -- Young Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC supplied cars to serve as floats for the annual Curwood Festival Heritage Parade. The festival was this past weekend, June 4–6, 2015.
The festival was created to honor local author James Oliver Curwood (1878-1927) who built the landmark Curwood Castle in Owosso to use as a writing studio. In 1978, Owosso marked the 100th anniversary of Curwood's birth with ceremonies around Curwood Castle. That first celebration grew to three days' worth of family activities and became a celebration of Owosso's heritage. Individual volunteers and community groups work year-round to make the event happen annually.

The Curwood Festival featured three straight days of entertainment. Some attractions included carnival rides, a wine and cheese party, live music, flapjack brunch, and a flea market. Various activities were held such as a 5k run, 10k run, softball tournament, and a fishing derby. There were also ongoing tours of Curwood Castle. The festival ended with Family Fun Day on June 6, which featured a pedal tractor pull and a Zumba class for kids.
