Young People Key to Success in Inverclyde
Edinburgh, Scotland (PRWEB UK) 12 January 2015 -- CVS Inverclyde is the first Third Sector Interface (TSI) in Scotland and first organisation directly funded by the Scottish Government to have achieved the Investors in Young People (IIYP) accreditation, the only people management standard that focuses on an employer’s recruitment and retention of young people.
Commenting on the accreditation, Ian Bruce, Executive Officer of CVS Inverclyde said: “Our young people bring a wealth of valuable skills, fresh ideas and, in particular, great enthusiasm to our workplace and we are very proud of their contribution to our organisation. We are delighted to have achieved the Investors in Young People accreditation, which recognises our commitment to their ongoing training and development that will help them go on and reach their full career potential.
“Not only did we meet the required standards of good practice to gain the accreditation, the feedback from the assessor was also particularly positive, highlighting that the organisation was a great place to work. It was also felt that our commitment to the Living Wage made us stand out as a good employer.”
Launched in July last year, the IIYP accreditation is offered to all businesses across Scotland and exists to recognise and support their employment of young people. CVS Inverclyde is now eligible to use and display the IIYP logo and plaque, and enjoy its benefits.

CVS Inverclyde, which provides advice and support for more than 600 community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises that operate across the region, employs 12 people at its Ladyburn Business Centre base in Pottery Street, Greenock.
