Zarwin Baum’s March Madness Event Raises $300,000 for Philabundance Since 2010
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) March 30, 2018 -- Business executives from across the Greater Philadelphia Region gathered Thursday, March 15 for prominent law firm Zarwin Baum’s 16th annual March Madness event, watching NCAA tournament coverage while raising money to alleviate hunger throughout the Delaware Valley.
Held at Philadelphia’s Crystal Tea Room, the sold-out event benefited Philabundance, the region’s largest provider of emergency hunger relief.
“With more than 700,000 people struggling with food insecurity in the Delaware Valley, proceeds from this event are going to help feed the children, seniors and families in our area that do not know where their next meal is coming from or if they will have one at all,” said Glenn Bergman, Philabundance’s Executive Director.
Bergman said Zarwin Baum’s partnership with Philabundance has raised more than $300,000 since 2010.
Guests this year watched nine full hours of NCAA game-day coverage while networking with some of the city’s leaders and basketball enthusiasts. Over 2,500 guests attended the invitation-only networking event.
A full-service whiskey bar by Smith’s, “basketball throws” and gin, Irish whiskey, craft beer and liquor tastings were available as well as an extensive silent auction and a live auction. Participating restaurants included Smith’s Positano Coast, Del Frisco’s, Dim Sum Garden, Jane G’s, BRU, Revolution Taco, 33rd Street Hospitality, Scarpetta’s, Zavino and Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCKatering).
