ZCorum to Demonstrate DOCSIS Diagnostics Solutions in Amsterdam during IBC 2015
Amsterdam (PRWEB) September 09, 2015 -- ZCorum, a leading provider of managed broadband services and diagnostics for broadband service providers, announced that they will be demonstrating their latest diagnostics solutions for cable operators who are attending IBC 2015 this week in Amsterdam.
ZCorum will again join MaxLinear at the conference as the two companies demonstrate products in a private setting at the Holiday Inn Amsterdam, near the RAI Conference Center where the conference and exhibition is being held.
Among the products being showcased is Remote Spectrum, which collects the spectrum for all channels passing through a cable modem or set-top box and displays it on a PC or mobile device. The spectrum data comes directly from the customer premises equipment (CPE), so there is no need for probes on the network, and no need to send out a truck to connect up a meter. Also being shown is Upstream Analyzer which displays the return path spectrum directly from a Cisco or Arris CMTS. The spectrum is viewed remotely on a PC or mobile device.
In addition to the spectrum tools, ZCorum will also demonstrate PreEqualization Analyzer, a proactive network maintenance (PNM) tool that shows where upstream impairments are in the plant before they impact subscribers.
“With Remote Spectrum, technicians no longer need to roll a truck to see what’s going on in the downstream plant,” said Arthur Skinner, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Business Development at ZCorum. “This also means no bulky and expensive test equipment. The tech can simply use their tablet or smartphone to see the full spectrum just as it would appear on a meter, wherever they have Internet access.”
PreEqualization Analyzer is a PNM tool that utilizes the pre-equalization data from cable modems on the network to identify the location and severity of upstream impairments. Skinner said the data and mapping in PreEqualization Analyzer allows operators find and fix the impairments before they are severe enough to cause an impact for subscribers.
“We look forward to IBC every year,” said Julie Compann, President and CEO at ZCorum. “This conference generates a lot of interest in the European market for us, and we’re pleased to again have the opportunity to talk with providers about the significant operational improvements and cost savings these tools provide.”
