Zenergy Works To Offer Community Workshops In Partnership With Google
Santa Rosa, CA (PRWEB) September 18, 2015 -- Zenergy Works, a Google Partner in Santa Rosa, is offering one of several free community workshops to help local businesses learn how to get online and grow. The purpose is to promote free tools available from Google. Christian Lane and Vanessa Van Cleave will speak at the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce on October 22 at 8:00 AM. There is no cost to attend the event, which is open to the all Chamber members. Attendees will receive Google logo items.
On March 25th, Google launched Let’s Get Our Cities on the Map, a tailor-made program designed to strengthen 30,000 communities across the nation by helping their local businesses get online. The program provides each city with a custom website where local businesses can go for online help. It’s loaded with helpful resources, like a diagnostic tool that shows businesses how they appear on Search and Maps, a step-by-step guide for getting online with Google My Business, and a websites analysis offer. Lane and Van Cleave will sponsor several such presentations in the North Bay in the coming months. “Visibility may the #1 pitfall among business relying on the perceived magic that geotargeted SEO provides,” says Christian Lane, project manager and consultant for small business nationwide. “One must keep in mind who is searching for what and where they are when they do it.”
Since the program’s inception in March of 2015, 327,000 businesses have engaged with the “Let’s Put Our Cities on the Map” program and have benefited from a 200% uptick in local search results merely by following through with the simple process of getting listed with Google more thoroughly than in the past. Jade Wang, Google Business Community Manager, advised, “We're asking business owners to review and confirm some of the information in their Google Places accounts so we can keep showing it to Google users.” 4 out of 5 Internet users 4 out of 5 people use search engines to find basic business information, often from a mobile device and under time constraints. According to Google representatives, “Businesses who have complete listings in search engines are then twice as likely to be chosen by those who are searching – a tremendous advantage.” In a study performed by European consultancy Oxera, it was reported that “A large proportion of survey respondents identified that opening hours and user reviews were important in searching for a business. When choosing a business, respondents also identified opening hours as being important”, making this presentation even more compelling for local business owners seeking to ‘get on boar’ with a minimal spend in time and intellectual resources.
