Zicam® Cold Remedy Kicks Off Cold Season Outreach in the Windy City, During 80th McDonald's® Thanksgiving Parade
Chicago, Illinois: (PRWEB) November 25, 2013 -- Beware, Chicago, the Cold Monster will be on the loose at this year’s McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade. Luckily, Zicam Cold Remedy – the Pre-Cold® medicine that helps shorten colds – will be close by.
In its first year as a Parade sponsor, Zicam will be presenting six parade groups during the nationally televised event, which takes place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2013 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. CST along State Street, from Congress to Randolph.
Zicam chose Chicago for its cold season launch due to the city’s reputation for cold weather – and with American’s expected to suffer over 1 billion colds this year, Zicam looks forward to educating Chicagoans about shortening their colds this winter.
“We’ll be educating Chicago about that first stage of a cold, the Pre-Cold,” said Lori Norian, VP Marketing for Zicam. “A Pre-Cold is that first sniffle or sneeze before you get a full-blown cold – and it’s the crucial time to take Zicam, so you can shorten your cold.”
Zicam is a completely different® kind of medicine made with zinc that helps shorten a cold rather than just treat its symptoms. Taken as directed at the Pre-Cold stage, Zicam RapidMelts®, Oral Mist™, and Chewables are clinically proven to shorten the duration of a cold.
And with cold season lasting from November until March, Zicam is not a moment too soon. Look for Zicam’s orange tent at the corner of Madison and State streets, where attendees can pick up a cozy orange hat and battle the 7 ft. tall Cold Monster himself in a souvenir photo.
Zicam will also be presenting stunning performances from Danville High School Marching Band, Fairfield High School Marching Band, Bertrand's Miniature Horses, Siumni Polish Highlander Folk Ensemble, The Saint Paul Winter Carnival Vulcan Krewe and Royal Family, and the float of Ensemble Espanol Spanish Dance Theater.
This year’s lineup also includes over 100 diverse and remarkable groups plus Honorary Grand Marshal Ronald McDonald, Chicago’s favorite fun-loving bird and Parade mascot, Teddy Turkey, and an appearance by Santa Claus.
Added Norian: “A shorter cold: Now there’s something to be thankful for!”
