HepCAware.org, Roadhouse Rock & Blues band Kelly's Lot and New Orleans blues guitarist Scott Detweiler are teaming to bring a little heat to Malibu when they perform Sunday, Sept 6 (2-4:30pm) at the 26th Annual Kiwanis Chili Cook-Off. They'll be bringing the blues, but also free Hepatitis C testing sponsored by HepCAware.org. HepCAware.org has also teamed up with the Los Angeles Blues Society (LABLUES.org) to offer information at their booth at The Long Beach Blues Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Labor Day weekend at Rainbow Lagoon Park in Long Beach. LABlues.org founder Phil Gates offered their support after hearing about Malibu.

'Hep C Aware' Telethon Expands Television Broadcast to 8 Hours

Hepatitis C Awareness Telethon to Air its 3rd Annual Broadcast Live on the Internet and in Southern CA on KVMD TV

Kelly Zirbes, the national spokesperson for Hep C Aware and The Hepatitis C Caring Ambassadors Program (HCCAP) has announced the 3rd Annual “Hep C Aware” Telethon to air over the Internet and on KVMD TV Channel 23, Saturday, October 21, 2006. The Telethon is the signature event of the partnership between HepCAwareand HepCChallenge both non-profit organizations dedicated to raising awareness of Hepatitis C. This event will be live on HepCAware.org for eight hours from 12-8pm PST and on KVMD in Southern California from 12-8pm PST. It will feature musical performances, comedians and medical experts as well as special guests and featured spots about Hep C throughout the entire event. The Alameda concert is part of a California tour that brings Kelly’s Lot to the steps of the State Capitol as well as concerts in Paradise and Yuba City.
