Average interest rates for the most common forms of commercial loans taken out by British companies have jumped by two full percentage points compared with last year.For the first three weeks of August, outstanding commercial paper (IOUs issued by corporations to finance their operations) in the U.S. financial system has decreased by 11 percent, or $244 billion. The asset-backed segment, accounting for half of all the commercial paper, has decreased the most, representing $185 billion.
