University of London International Programmes to be Taught at the American University in Cairo

The American University in Cairo is to offer study programmes for the University of London International Programmes and, in doing so, it will help increase the range of programmes available for graduate students in the region. Following a student recruitment drive from January 2011, the following programmes will be offered in Cairo: • the Diploma for Graduates in the fields of Information Systems and the Diploma in Banking with academic direction from the London School of Economics and, • the Postgraduate Certificate/and or the Postgraduate Diploma in International Management with academic direction from Royal Holloway.

Politicians Advocate Greater Role in Higher Education for University of London International Programmes

Gisela Stuart MP recommended that the government give serious consideration to ensuring that the emerging funding and policy framework for higher education allows study for University of London degrees to be widely available to UK students. Speaking during the adjournment debate in the House of Commons on Wednesday (13 October) Gisela Stuart said there was no doubt that the country needs an ‘open, diverse and accessible’ education system.

A record 800 graduates from every corner of the globe – Jamaica to Sri Lanka, Russia to New Zealand and, of course, the UK – will celebrate their success at the Barbican Centre on Monday 15 March.

Key Appointment for Laws Programme: Prof. Jenny Hamilton

Financial services law expert Professor Jenny Hamilton has joined the University of London External System as Director of the highly successful Undergraduate Laws Programme (EULP). Professor Hamilton brings almost 20 years of university teaching experience to the position, 13 of which have been with the University of Strathclyde Law School in Scotland. At Strathclyde, Professor Hamilton held a number of positions including Senior Lecturer, Director of Teaching, and Vice Dean of Law, Arts and Social Sciences.
