Prestigious YWCA Women of Distinction Award Presented to Sister Rita Thomas, CBS, Sisters of Bon Secours

Sister Rita Thomas, CBS, of the Sisters of Bon Secours, received the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of South Hampton Roads’ Women of Distinction Award for her work in the medical field. The Sisters of Bon Secours is a Catholic women’s religious community with ministries in the fields of healthcare, social services, spiritual retreats and education. Sr. Rita has held various positions in the Bon Secours Health Care System and was honored for her work in the Hampton Roads area by YWCA, an organization aiming to create a community where racism does not exist and women are empowered.
